Bridging the Funding Gap:
Innovative Funding Solutions for Early Stage
Technology Companies

August 16, 2006

The Problem: Even with more than $65 Billion in Venture Capital funding available for investments, early stage companies are finding it more and more difficult to engage with funding partners: Less than 1% of early stage companies looking for venture capital get funded!

The Funding Gap: As Venture Capital firms aim to minimize risk and secure manageable portfolio sizes, they have focused on larger sized investments and later stage companies -creating a gap in the funding chain; a lack of funding availability for entrepreneurs looking for 2 to 5 million dollars. Professional angel investors have also increased their average investment thresholds and are looking for companies in later stages - creating a second funding gap for early stage companies which require seed capital or first series funding.

Reponses & Innovations: Some professional Angels and Venture Capital entities have developed innovative ways to address the venture funding gaps and have modified traditional investment models to balance risk, address the needs of the early stage entities and provide growth capital to help entrepreneurs get the funding they need.

The Panel's Focus: The panel participants are at the forefront of many of the most innovative new funding strategies for early stage companies. The discussion will include a review of the venture gaps, the dynamics of the new angel investor and venture capitalist, and the innovative ways that professional investors have created to address the problem.

If you're looking for funding and pushing for growth, and want to learn how some of these new innovative funding programs can help you bridge the funding gap, please join us on August 16th.
