Software as a service is emerging as a strong alternative to traditional enterprise software vendor distribution and buyer purchasing models. A number of interesting factors are driving this trend. Vendors, customers, investors and others are all impacted by this trend and are attempting to understand and successfully react to this phenomenon.

Attendees will hear directly from representatives of some of the large companies that are leading the charge in Software as a Service initiatives.

Our panel of experts will examine the following issues:

David Fournier - Chief Executive Officer of LoanToolbox
With over twenty five year’s senior management experience in the high technology and IT fields, David Fournier has managed organizations from startups to mature companies with over 400 employees. As CEO and senior manager for three start-up technology companies he helped raise over 25 million dollars in funding, leading two to acquisition, the other to a successful IPO. Mr. Fournier has assisted and invested in start-up Internet and technology companies and has consulted with companies looking to raise Venture Capital. He was a frequent speaker on the technology and software industry in Southern California. He served on the board of directors of the Technology Council of Southern California for 6 years and served as its Interim Executive Director

Ms. Diana Waterson, Business Partner Marketing Consultant - ISV & Developer Relations, IBM
Diana's current role at IBM is in support of Software as a Service business partners. These partners offer their solution to the marketplace in a software as a services model and delivered using IBM's market leading hosting services. She works directly with the partners creating marketing plans that include demand generation, PR, and sales enablement. Prior to working directly with IBM business partners, Diana led the development of service offerings for IBM's e-business hosting service portfolio. With over 17 years of experience in software products and service offerings and 10 years in software start-up companies, she provides a balanced perspective to help fuel the growth targets of her partners.

MODERATOR BIO:

Vito A. Costanzo - Partner of Holland & Knight LLP
is a partner in the Litigation Department of the Los Angeles office of Holland & Knight LLP. He has experience in the litigation of software and technology licensing disputes, infringement and misappropriation of intellectual property rights and trade secrets claims. Mr. Costanzo was formerly employed as a trial attorney by the Los Angeles County District Attorneys' office. He has conducted both jury and non-jury trials and appeals and has practiced before federal and state courts in California, federal courts in various states, the American Arbitration Association and J.A.M.S./Endispute.

Mr. Costanzo's representation of software companies includes litigation involving programs used in automated red light enforcement systems, digital media distribution and central system alarm systems. He has represented several clothing companies, candy manufacturers and bottling companies in trademark infringement and counterfeiting litigation. Mr. Costanzo has extensive experience in trade secrets litigation in a broad range of industries, including software consulting, title insurance and storage containers.

Mr. Costanzo is a member of the Technology Council of Southern California, a member of the Governing Board of the LAEDC, a member of the Organizing Committee for the 2007 LAVA Investment Capital Conference and a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Costanzo received his B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1984 and his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1987.
