AeA
American Marketing Association The Southern California chapter of the American Marketing Association became a chapter of the national American Marketing Association in 1938. The chapter incorporated February 3, 1977 as a non-profit entity operated by volunteers. Our Mission Statement is: "By facilitating and promoting alliance partnerships, the SoCalAMA is a conduit of marketing expertise, education, and networking opportunities for individuals and businesses across sectors and industries in Southern California." We meet these objectives through monthly meetings and workshops with the marketing “movers and shakers” in the Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Frequently we partner with other marketing-related associations such as the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) and the AD Club. Our membership is currently over six hundred members.

Association for Information Technology Professionals

AITP-LA holds dinner meetings in West LA with a focus on keeping members abreast of technology trends and managing technology effectively, as well as providing strong networking opportunities through monthly meetings and a quarterly steering committee. Membership covers a broad range, from Directors of IT, CIOs, hands-on IT professionals, consulting firms, attorneys, and educators. AITP-LA is part of a national organization founded in 1951 with over 9,000 professional and student members.

Association for Strategic Planning

ASP is the only national nonprofit association of professionals focused on effective strategy for organizations. The mission is to enable people and organizations to succeed through improved thinking, planning, and action. Non-members are welcome to attend any chapter meetings and the annual National Conference in February.

Association for Women in Technology

The Association for Women in Technology (AWT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of women and girls in all fields of technology. As a dynamic forum for networking and learning opportunities, AWT hosts a variety of activities and events including our Quarterly Women's Technology Leadership Forums, Mentorship Program and members mixers. California Coast Venture Forum
Caltech/MIT Enterprise The Caltech/MIT Enterprise forum is a joint venture of Caltech's Industrial Relations Center, the Caltech Alumni Association and the MIT Alumni Association .

 

Through its monthly program the Forum provides advice, support, education and networking opportunities to technology-based ventures in the Southern California area.

 

Programs address a range of key entrepreneurial issues from financing, marketing and business planning to executive leadership and staffing. Case presentations feature companies in emerging technology areas reviewing their business plans with expert panelists. Special sessions examine new entrepreneurial opportunities, in such areas as life sciences, medical technologies, energy, software, communications and entertainment technologies.

The Digital Coast Roundtable (DCR), founded in 1998, is the premiere digital media non-profit organization whose members are at the forefront of the convergence of entertainment and technology. The organization recently formed a closer relationship with the Pasadena Angels and Tech Coast Angels, expanding our geographical reach throughout Greater Los Angeles. Entretec connects with communities throughout Southern California through its extensive outreach of close to 8,000 organizations and contacts. The network currently has over 250 member companies that participate in sector conferences, strategic alliance partnering events, networking meetings, referrals, discount programs and business training workshops. Since its inception seven years ago, Entretec has worked closely with the Office of Technology Transfer at Caltech, the Caltech/MIT Enterprise Forum, the Keck Graduate Institute, UCLA, USC, the NASA Commercialization Center, the Los Angeles County Business Technology Center, LARTA, the LAEDC and the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership.

Product Development and Management Association

The Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) is the premier international organization dedicated to the community of individuals and organizations engaged in product development, management and innovation. It has chapters in Los Angeles (www.pdmala.org) and Irvine (www.pdmasocal.org) that produce events providing networking, education and professional enrichment. The parent organization (www.pdma.org) furthers its constituents' interests through publications and conferences, by sponsoring research and by supporting local chapters and affiliates throughout the world.

The Tech Coast Angels, www.techcoastangels.com, is the largest angel investor network in the United States, providing funding and guidance to the most early stage, high growth companies in Southern California. Since its inception in 1997, TCA members have personally invested $58 million in 91 companies and have helped portfolio companies attract $552 million in additional capital, ten times their original investments, mostly from venture capital firms. As a value-add, seed and early stage investment group, TCA offers companies much more than capital. Members also mentor and coach entrepreneurs, help recruit additional management, and provide access to institutional investors and strategic partners. TCA has more than 270 members in its four networks in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and Westlake/Santa Barbara.
