About Technology Council Societies

The formation of Societies is a new strategic path for the Technology Council.  Societies will be created by vertical markets and/or by work disciplines.  The purpose of Societies is to provide an ongoing network within technology industries, peer groups, and disciplines.

Societies will meet monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly in Los Angeles County and Orange County regions of Southern California.  Societies will be managed by Technology Council sponsors, staff and volunteers from our membership.

Peer Societies:

Entrepreneurs Society

The mission of the Entrepreneurs Society is to educate, inspire and support entrepreneurial CEOs.  We will focus on business issues and solutions that eliminate management blind spots and help move your business forward.  Leveraging great speakers and roundtable discussions, we will provide an intimate environment that is conducive to networking and learning from your peers..

Financial Executives Society

The mission of the Financial Executives Society is to form a community of executives to discuss struggles and best practices within their work discipline.  Activities will include round table discussions, guest speakers and moderators for topics of interest.  We will provide education, knowledge-transfer, and networking in the fields of tax, finance and accounting to the owners and decision makers of technology firms.  Participation is limited to CFO, Controllers and business executives that manage the financial operations of their business.

Marketing & Sales Executives Society

The Marketing and Sales Executives Society will meet every two months to discuss the key challenges facing marketing and sales leaders in technology companies today.  Attendance is open to VP and higher level executives, the Society utilizes round table discussions, guest speakers and moderators for rich, peer-based knowledge sharing and problem solving.

Discipline Societies:

M&A and Funding Society

To provide a forum for founders, investors and C-level executives to learn best practices for funding, building the value of, and exiting their businesses as well as to discuss the challenges they face at all stages of the capital cycle.

Industry based Societies:

Digital Media Society

The Digital Media Society of The Technology Council of Southern California is focused on the convergence of technology and entertainment. As Internet connectivity and social media spread beyond the PC to new devices such as mobile phones, televisions and set top boxes, media companies must adapt and respond with new business models and strategies for growth. The Digital Media Society is a forum to explore and discuss these trends, and actively engage media companies as they adapt their businesses to this changing environment.

Clean Tech Society

The Mission of the Clean Tech Society is to bring together the thought leaders and entrepreneurs around the clean tech movement in Southern California to share their insights and vision with the rest of the local technology community. Southern California should be the heart of the alternative energy and sustainability movements in the US due to it's climate, geography, as well as it's media, aerospace  and technology businesses.  Our hope is that this open exchange of ideas will inspire three things:
  1. Encourage more and better clean tech entrepreneurship in Southern California.
  2. Educate the region's technology community about how to incorporate new technologies and best practices to build more environmentally sustainable businesses.
  3. Ensure long term sustainable growth of the region by encouraging leadership, investment and entrepreneurship is this vibrant and growing field.
