TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ANNOUNCES RECIPIENTS OF 13th ANNUAL 2007 TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY AWARDS

Gala Event Highlighted by Lively Panel Discussion with CEO Finalists from Epicor, Citrix Online and New Age Electronics

TORRANCE, CALIF. – March 7, 2007 – The Technology Council of Southern California presented the 2007 Technology Industry Awards at a gala dinner, honoring individuals and companies that have made extraordinary contributions to the growth of Southern California as a center for technological innovation. More than 260 of the region’s technology industry leaders attended the event this evening at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. The event marked the 13th year the Technology Industry Awards have been given.

From many applicants, 24 individuals and companies were honored as finalists for the eight award categories, which were presented at the dinner. This year’s award recipients are:

·         CEO of the Year – George Klaus, Epicor Software Corporation

·         Entrepreneur of the Year – Kerry Shih, SyncVoice Communications

·         Emerging Software Company of the Year – WebVisible

·         Software Company of the Year – WebSideStory/Visual Sciences

·         Network & Security Company of the Year – Occam Networks

·         Hardware & Storage Company of the Year – ViewSonic Corporation

·         Internet & New Media Company of the Year – Oversee.net

·         Mobile Company of the Year – Broadcom Corporation

For the first time, this year’s event featured a panel presentation titled, “Building a Technology Business in Southern California.” The three finalists for CEO of the Year participated in the panel, which focused on how these executives have made their companies thrive in Southern California.

“This year’s awards event drew a wide variety of entries from all over Southern California,” said Jon Kraft, Technology Council chairman of the board. “We hope events like our annual awards gala will continue to bring together companies to share success stories, as that is one of the driving forces to ensuring this region remains a dynamic force in the technology industry.”
