 TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR VENTURENET 2006

Capital Presentation Submissions for Eleventh Annual Event Due August 15th

TORRANCE, Calif. – July 19, 2006 – The Technology Council of Southern California, www.tcosc.org, today announced that it has begun accepting submissions for capital presentations at VentureNet™ 2006, the region’s premier capital conference for software and information technology companies.

This year’s eleventh annual conference will be held September 14, 2006 at The Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel in Costa Mesa, Calif. Applications to present may be made online at www.venturenet.org, or by calling (310) 325-4000. The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, August 15, 2006.

Last year’s VentureNetÔ 2005 included presentations from Make it Work, LLC, Vigilistics, Inc., Auditude and several other Southern California technology companies.  Make it Work LLC later went on to be honored as “Software Services Company of the Year” at the Technology Council’s annual Industry Awards, held in March 2006

A business plan review committee will evaluate each capital presentation submission.  The committee consists of prominent investors from these firms:  Anthem Venture Partners, Clearstone Venture Partners, DFJ Frontier, GRP Partners, ITU Ventures, Palomar Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Rincon Ventures, Rustic Canyon Partners, Starboard Ventures and Tech Coast Angels. The committee will select the 10 strongest applicants, which typically include companies ranging from start-ups to mid-market organizations, to make presentations at the conference.

“Year after year VentureNet continues to be a must-attend event for Southern California’s smartest technology organizations,” said Jon Kraft, Technology Council chairperson. “Participants in VentureNet consistently make connections that drive their growth, and, as demonstrated by past winners, position them for ongoing success. We look forward to seeing what type of new technologies and innovations this year’s presenters have to offer.”

Submissions will be evaluated on a number of criteria, including:

·         Products and services

·         Competitive advantage

·         Management team

·         Potential growth rate and size

·         Financial model (including the amount of capital being raised)

·         Opportunity to create shareholder value

Finalists will receive coaching before the event.  The selected companies will each make a 10-minute presentation followed by an investor panel offering presenters and attendees valuable feedback on what works and what doesn’t.

20 companies, including the 10 presenting companies, are also invited to exhibit in the Entrepreneur's Showcase, where much of the conference’s networking takes place.

Presented by the Technology Council of Southern California, the conference is sponsored by Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, Deloitte & Touche, CJ Patrick Company and Ruder Finn, Inc.
